10 gram lots Facet grade pegmatite gemstone rough!

We’re not sure if it’s quartz or petalite or something in between but it cuts beautifully so we’ve decided to sell small facet grade practice packets of what we’ve been calling cahuilla salmon quartz. 
all of our supply was hand mined by yours truly from the historic pegmatite fields of cahuilla in Southern California, from open unclaimed land.

faceted the pieces display light chatoyance from yellow to pink and has a moonstone esk sheen in some pieces. 

while not the most exclusive material in the world, this rough is a chance to facet historic hand mined California desert gemstone materials at a good price, and you just might find something we missed, as stated we’re not sure what the material is only that it is beautiful once faceted.

not all pieces are completely eye clean or loop clean, many have small internal veils or feather inclusions, it is up to each cutter and facet artist to orient the stone to their liking and to either keep or cut out inclusions and veils at their own digression. 
we do our best to provide only the best highest clarity pieces suitable for faceting but we are not perfect.
